Funds Under Management

Life Saving Support Services Inc manages both general funds and restricted funds that have been entrusted to us to support life saving clubs, members and activities that contribute to safer communities around the water.

General funds are funds that have been donated or raised without a specific restriction on their use. These funds provide the organisation with flexibility to respond to the needs of life saving clubs and the broader life saving movement. General funds may be used to support approved activities, projects, equipment, programs and other purposes consistent with our organisation’s objectives. Membership income and general fundraising have, to date, also covered all of the organisation’s operating costs.

Restricted funds are funds provided for a specific purpose or for the benefit of a specific club. These may include donations designated for particular equipment, projects, programs or club activities. Restricted funds are separately identified and are only applied in accordance with the purpose or conditions under which they were provided. This ensures that donors and clubs can have confidence that funds entrusted to us for a particular purpose remain available for that purpose.

We are committed to responsible and transparent stewardship of all funds under our management. Our very low operating costs allow us to maximise the funds available to support life saving and water safety activities, while maintaining appropriate controls over both general and restricted funds.
